Security Deposit (Pre-authorisation)
What is a pre-authorisation?
It’s a temporary hold of €250 per bike on your card. No money is taken today. If everything is returned in good order, the hold is released automatically; if not, we may capture part or all of the hold to cover costs.
How it works
- Click the button below to open our secure Stripe checkout.
- Enter the Rider name and your billing details.
- Approve the pre-authorisation with your bank (may require 3-D Secure).
- Return here automatically — you’ll see a confirmation message.
What you’ll need
- A bank card in your name (debit or credit) with €250 available per bike.
- Your billing address (for verification) and an email address for the receipt.
- Photo ID when collecting your bike(s).
Frequently asked questions
Is this a charge?
No. It’s a temporary hold only. Your bank may show it as “pending” — that’s normal.
When does the hold release?
We release holds after bikes are returned in good order. Banks then remove the hold; this typically happens within a few days, but some issuers may take longer.
Multiple riders on one booking?
Yes — use the same page link. Each rider creates their own pre-authorisation. If you have a booking reference, it appears at the top and is linked to each deposit.
Which cards are accepted?
Most Visa and Mastercard debit/credit cards. Some prepaid or virtual cards may not support pre-authorisations.
Is it secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t see or store your full card number.
Troubleshooting
- If the button doesn’t work, refresh the page and try again.
- Make sure pop-ups are allowed and your browser time is correct.
- If your bank declines the hold, contact them or try a different card.
