OriMar Bikes – Booking Terms and Conditions

Carbon Road Bike Hire – Murcia Region & Alicante

Important

These Booking Terms & Conditions govern all bike hires and any custom cycling holiday arrangements made with OriMar Bikes (“OMB”).

By placing an order via our website, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms.

A Rental Agreement will also be signed at delivery, forming part of the contract. In the event of any inconsistency, these Booking Terms & Conditions take precedence.

1. Definitions

  • “OMB”, “we”, “us” – OriMar Bikes
  • “you”, “renter”, “client” – the person placing the booking
  • “bike” – any bicycle and accessories supplied by OMB

2. Booking Process & Contract

  • Bookings are made online and confirmed once an order confirmation is issued
  • You must be 18 years or over to enter into a contract
  • Acceptance of these Terms occurs at checkout
  • A Rental Agreement will be signed at delivery and forms part of the contract
  • OMB reserves the right to decline bookings where they cannot be fulfilled (for example, sizing or stock limitations)

3. Payments

  • Booking deposit: typically 30% (non-refundable) to secure dates and bike size(s)
  • Balance for hires: payable on delivery
  • Custom cycling holidays: payment schedule as outlined in your personalised quotation

4. Security Deposit (Pre-authorisation)

  • A €250 pre-authorisation per bike is required prior to delivery
  • This is completed via a secure payment link sent in your booking reminder
  • The pre-authorisation is released following satisfactory return of the bike (bank processing times may vary)
  • Failure to complete this step may result in cancellation of your booking

5. Identification

  • Valid photo ID (passport or national ID card) must be presented at delivery
  • The lead booker is responsible for all bikes included in the booking

6. Delivery & Collection

  • Delivery and collection are arranged by appointment within an agreed time window
  • Service covers the Murcia Region and Alicante provinces, with location-based surcharges where applicable
  • Airport delivery and collection are not offered
  • An adult must be present for both delivery and collection
  • Bikes are fully set up at handover; a track pump is provided at delivery for initial setup only

7. What’s Included with Each Hire

Each bike is supplied with:

  • GPS mount (Garmin or Wahoo compatible)
  • 2 × bottle cages
  • Saddle bag containing:
    • 1 × spare tube
    • 2 × tyre levers
    • Hand pump

Additional charges:

  • Spare tube used: €7
  • Unreturned accessories: €10 per item

Optional extras (pre-booked):

Pedals (Shimano or Look), helmet, branded bidons

8. Use & Care of Equipment

  • Bikes are for road cycling only
  • Use in races, triathlons, time trials, or organised events is strictly prohibited
  • Helmet use is mandatory under Spanish law
  • You are responsible for your own safety and riding behaviour
  • Bikes must be stored indoors and secure at all times
  • Do not leave bikes unattended in public areas
  • Avoid pressure washing; take care around sand and salt exposure
  • You are liable for loss, theft, or damage beyond normal wear and tear

9. Mechanical Issues During Hire

  • Procedures are outlined in your signed Rental Agreement
  • Call-outs or recovery services are not included
  • Where available, call-out fee: €30 per bike
  • Punctures are the rider’s responsibility
  • Third-party repairs must be authorised by OMB in advance

10. Loss, Theft, Damage & Accidents

  • Any incident must be reported to OMB immediately
  • Theft or accidents must also be reported to the Guardia Civil, with a reference number obtained
  • You may be charged up to the full replacement value of the bike
  • Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended

11. Cleaning

  • Normal road use is expected
  • Excessively dirty bikes (mud, sand, salt) may incur a cleaning charge from €15 per bike
  • Additional servicing costs may apply where contamination has caused mechanical impact

12. Late Return & Non-Return

  • Returns more than 1 hour late: €25 per bike
  • Beyond 24 hours: additional charges may apply, including daily hire rates and recovery costs
  • Failure to return a bike may be treated as theft

13. Cancellations & Changes (Bike Hire)

13.1 Deposits

All booking deposits are non-refundable

13.2 Cancellation Charges

Based on calendar days before hire start date:

  • 60–22 days: 50% of hire value
  • 22–15 days: 75% of hire value
  • 14–0 days: 100% of hire value

13.3 Changes to Bookings

  • More than 14 days before hire → free (subject to availability)
  • Within 14 days → €20 administration fee per change
  • All changes must be rescheduled within the same calendar year

13.4 Reductions to Bookings

Once a booking has been confirmed, any reduction to the original booking value is not permitted.

This includes:

  • Reducing the number of hire days
  • Reducing the number of bikes
  • Removing any services or agreed items

Where a reduction is requested, the original booking value remains payable in full.

If a client no longer requires part of their booking, this will be treated as a cancellation of that portion, and no refund or credit will be given.

13.5 Discretionary Amendments

OMB may, at its sole discretion, allow amendments to bookings.

Any such amendments:

  • Are not guaranteed
  • May incur an administration fee
  • Will not reduce the total booking value

14. Custom Cycling Holidays

All cycling holidays are bespoke and will be confirmed via a personalised quotation, including:

  • Payment structure
  • Included services
  • Third-party partner terms (hotels, transfers)

Cancellation terms may include both OMB and partner conditions.

15. Liability & Force Majeure

  • Cycling carries inherent risk; you participate at your own risk
  • OMB’s liability is limited to the total booking value unless otherwise required by law
  • We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our control

16. Privacy & Communication

  • Personal data is processed solely to fulfil your booking
  • We may contact you via email, phone, or WhatsApp regarding your booking

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Spanish law.

18. Acceptance

By placing your booking, you confirm that:

  • You have read and accepted these Terms
  • You understand your responsibilities
  • You agree to sign the Rental Agreement upon delivery
