Cycling from La Manga Club
La Manga Club sits inside a hillier pocket than the Mar Menor resorts. Los Belones is the gateway to the wider road network; Portmán and the Sierra Minera provide the defining climbs; Calblanque adds exposed coastal scenery; and Cartagena becomes a realistic objective for a longer day.
Leaving and returning to the resort adds climbing before the main route has even begun, so distance alone understates the effort.

Choosing a Bike for La Manga Club
BMC Teammachine SLR: for the road cyclist
Choose the BMC if you are planning longer rides, structured training or climbing days through Portmán, the Cenizas climb, Collado de Roche and the roads towards Cartagena. It is especially well suited to the repeated gradients immediately outside La Manga Club and the demanding Sierra Minera routes featured below.
Fiido C21: for assisted local exploration
Choose the Fiido C21 for assisted resort riding and more relaxed exploration towards Los Belones and the Mar Menor. It is not presented as a substitute for a carbon road bike on the demanding Sierra Minera routes.
One of each can work
If one person wants a road-training day and the other wants a relaxed ride, they can choose different bikes. On an easier day, both riders can stay on the flatter Mar Menor routes together.

GPX Routes from La Manga Club
The four routes below are deliberately different. Cenizas gives a short, concentrated climb; Collado de Roche and the Fausilla roads create a rolling middle-distance ride; the three-climb route stacks repeated efforts; and the 111 km Cartagena/Calblanque option is a genuine full day. GPX files are supplied after a confirmed booking.
Check access and surface conditions around the regional park and mining roads before departure; exposed sections can feel significantly harder in wind.

A full-day epic combining Calblanque coastline, Cartagena, and two proper climbs. Big sea views, fast descents, fishing village cafés, and classic Costa Cálida riding from start to finish.

🔥 Coast & Campo Endurance Loop
A short but punchy loop with the iconic Cenizas climb, ridge-line views over the Mediterranean, then smooth campo lanes rolling back toward the Mar Menor — perfect for a sharp pre-lunch ride.

⛰️ Three Sierra Climb Challenge
Three climbs packed into one fast session. Expect balcony-road switchbacks above Cartagena, rolling farmland near Roche, then a final ridge-line drag with lagoon views before a smooth run back to the resort.
