OriMar Bikes – Booking Terms and Conditions

Important: These Booking Terms & Conditions govern all bike hires and any custom cycling holiday arrangements made with OriMar Bikes (“OMB”). By placing an order on our website, you accept these terms. You will also sign our Rental Agreement at delivery; where documents differ, these Booking Terms & Conditions prevail.

1. Definitions

  • “OMB”, “we”, “us” – OriMar Bikes

  • “you”, “renter”, “client” – the person placing the booking

  • “bike” – any bicycle and accessories supplied by OMB

2. Booking process & contract

  • Bookings are placed online and become confirmed once we issue an order confirmation.

  • You must be aged 18 or over to enter a contract with us.

  • You accept these Terms at checkout.

  • A Rental Agreement is signed at delivery and forms part of the contract.

  • OMB may decline bookings that cannot be fulfilled (e.g., sizing conflicts or stock limitations).

3. Payments

  • Hire deposit: typically 30% (non-refundable), payable at checkout to secure dates and bike size(s).

  • Balance:

    • For hires – due on delivery.

    • For custom cycling holidays – your personalised quote will specify the payment schedule.

4. Security deposit pre-authorisation

  • A €250 pre-authorisation per bike is required via secure link in your booking reminder email.

  • The pre-authorisation is released upon satisfactory return of the bike (processing times vary by bank).

  • Failure to complete the pre-authorisation before delivery may result in cancellation of the hire.

5. Identification

  • Valid photo ID (passport or national ID card) must be shown at delivery.

  • The lead booker is responsible for all bikes on the order.

6. Delivery & collection

  • Delivery/collection is by appointment within an agreed time window.

  • Services cover Murcia and Alicante provinces; location-based surcharges may apply.

  • Airport delivery/collection is not available.

  • You (or a nominated adult) must be present to receive and return the bikes.

  • We complete your bike setup at handover. A track pump is available at delivery for initial setup only.

7. What’s included with each hire

Each bike includes:

  • GPS mount (Garmin / Wahoo)

  • 2 × bottle cages

  • Saddle bag with:

    • 1 × spare tube

    • 2 × tyre levers

    • Hand pump

Spare tube use: €7
Unreturned accessories: €10 per item

Optional extras (pre-book): pedals (Shimano or Look), helmet, branded bidons.

8. Use & care of equipment

  • Bikes are for road use only and must not be used in organised racing, triathlons, or time trials.

  • Helmets are mandatory under Spanish law.

  • You are responsible for your own safety and for ensuring sensible riding practices.

  • Bikes must be stored indoors and securely when not in use.

  • Do not leave bikes unattended in public areas.

  • Do not pressure-wash bikes. Avoid contamination from sand or saltwater; wipe down after coastal rides.

  • You are liable for loss, theft, or damage beyond normal wear and tear.

9. Mechanical issues during the hire

  • Procedures and responsibilities are detailed in your signed Rental Agreement.

  • Call-outs or recoveries are not included in hire prices. If available, the current call-out fee is €30 per bike.

  • Punctures are the rider’s responsibility; we provide one spare tube per bike.

  • Third-party repairs must be pre-authorised by OMB.

10. Loss, theft, damage & accidents

  • Notify OMB immediately of any incident.

  • In cases of theft or traffic accident, you must report to the Guardia Civil and obtain a crime/incident number.

  • Repair or replacement costs may be charged up to the full value of the bike.

  • Travel insurance covering cycle hire, accidental damage, theft and medical costs is strongly recommended.

11. Cleaning

  • Light road dust is acceptable.

  • Heavily soiled returns (mud, sand, salt) may incur a cleaning surcharge from €15 per bike.

  • Where contamination requires additional servicing (e.g., drivetrain, bearings, brakes), further charges may apply.

12. Late return & non-return

  • Returns more than 1 hour late incur a €25 per bike fee.

  • Beyond 24 hours, additional charges may apply, including daily hire rate and recovery costs.

  • Failure to return a bike may be reported as theft.

13. Cancellations & changes (hire)

Deposit

All booking deposits are non-refundable.

Cancellation charges

Based on calendar days before the start of hire:

  • 60–22 days: 50% of hire value

  • 22–15 days: 75% of hire value

  • 14–0 days: 100% of hire value

Changes / alterations to a booking

  • More than 14 days before hire: Free, subject to availability.

  • Within 14 days of hire: €20 administration fee per change.

  • All changes must be re-booked within the same calendar year.

14. Custom cycling holidays (quotes on request)

  • All holidays are bespoke. Your quote will specify:

    • Deposit and payment schedule

    • Inclusions and exclusions

    • Any partner (hotel/transfer) terms that apply

  • Cancellation charges for holidays follow partner terms plus applicable OMB terms.

15. Liability & force majeure

  • Cycling carries inherent risks. You ride at your own risk and must comply with local laws.

  • OMB’s liability is limited to the total amount paid for the hire or arrangements, except where law prevents such limitation.

  • We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control (force majeure).

16. Privacy & communication

  • We process your personal data solely to manage your booking and provide our services, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  • We may contact you via email, phone or WhatsApp regarding your booking.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Jurisdiction: Region of Alicante or Region of Murcia, Spain.

18. Acceptance

By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accept these Booking Terms & Conditions.
You will also sign the Rental Agreement upon delivery.
