Los Alcázares – GPX Route 2
Los Alcázares – GPX Route 2
Ride Overview
A proper “coast-to-mining-hills” hit-out from Los Alcázares. You roll the Mar Menor edge to warm the legs, then cut south into the Sierra Minera where the road tilts and twists through old quarry country and scrubby pine. It’s not a long day, but it is punchy—perfect if you want a solid climb and views without disappearing for hours. With 437 m of elevation in 56.87 km, this is a brilliant “before-lunch” challenge that still feels like a mini adventure.

Rider Tips
-
Hydration: One full bidón is usually enough in cooler months; take two in summer.
-
Gearing: Compact 50/34T (standard on our carbon road bikes) keeps the steep little ramps enjoyable.
-
Wind: If the easterly picks up, expect it to show up late—keep something in the tank for the final shoreline kilometres.
-
Timing: In July/August, aim to be rolling early; the inland sections heat up quickly after 11:00.
