Rides Statistics

- Elevation Gain: 775 m
- Difficulty: Moderate–Challenging
- Estimated Time: 2 ½ – 4 hrs
- Start/Finish: Pinar de Campoverde – main roundabout on Avenida del Pino
What to Expect
The ride begins with a gentle descent through eucalyptus and Aleppo-pine, but the road soon tilts up toward the Rebate ridge. The climb is friendly—around 5 %—and each corner reveals wider views of the citrus-green Segura plain. A quick drop deposits you onto vineyard-lined lanes that arrow north until a flash of bright blue appears between the trees: the Pedrera reservoir. For the next 10 km the tarmac hugs the water, rising and falling in short ramps that sting the legs just enough to feel alive while the reservoir shimmers at your side.
Leaving the lake, you swing southeast on a long, gently descending falso-llano where tail-winds are common—ideal for cruising in the drops. The peace is broken only by the hum of tyres and the perfume of lemon blossom. Gradually the gradient returns, lifting you onto the lower slopes of Sierra Escalona for one last push. Cresting the ridge, you’re rewarded with a sweeping descent back into Campoverde, right on cue for a celebratory cortado in the village plaza.
